Hi, I’m Makayla!

I’m a Denver-based photographer with a lifelong love for capturing moments.

I grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, and some of my earliest memories are of no-phones summer camp with a disposable camera in hand, counting down the days until I could rush to Walgreens for two-hour photo development. Flipping through those prints, full of friends made, adventures had, and my favorite place in the world, was pure joy. I think that feeling never really left me.

That early spark turned into a few years of photography classes in high school, then a full return to film and digital photography after I moved to Colorado post-grad. Suddenly I was surrounded by mountains, light, and landscapes I couldn't stop photographing.

These days, my work is shaped by two things I can't get enough of: travel and time in nature, and movies. I'm drawn to authentic, color-rich moments, the kind of in-between instants that feel almost cinematic, because that's exactly where my inspiration comes from.
